Sustainability through responsibility
Setting the course for change: from wastewater treatment to the materials used.
The world is changing rapidly. The increasing scarcity of resources, the strain on the environment, and climate and demographic changes are having a profound impact on our lives. Only a sustainable economy that takes environmental and social concerns into account alongside economic needs can have a long-term future.
What does sustainability-oriented corporate management mean to us? From the perspective of the Abfluss-AS-Alliance, what is behind "E" for Environmental, "S" for Social and "G" for Governance?
Together with our customers and suppliers, we discuss and develop concepts that lead to responsible and environmentally friendly use of materials in all service areas, thus pointing the way to true corporate responsibility.
In addition, our sense of social responsibility goes beyond our business activities. We are committed to the environmental education of our predominantly young personnel. We are less concerned with enhancing our own image than with a commitment that has a long-term impact and brings about lasting change.
Environmental protection and resource conservation
As one of the oldest and leading environment service providers in the field of drainage systems and consultants for the efficient handling of drainage systems, we consider it our duty to contribute to sustainable development. We fulfill this obligation by focusing on our core competence and countering expansive material consumption with alternative strategies that combine high-quality recycling, environmental protection and resource conservation.
We wholeheartedly endorse the objective of responsible entrepreneurs to turn Germany into a raw materials hub that returns valuable resources to the recycling loop and, ideally, can supply not only domestic industry but also other nations with secondary raw materials.
Sustainability is not just an environmental issue
Contrary to what is often assumed, sustainability also encompasses a company’s treatment of its employees, or the issue of labour rights and the principles of good corporate governance, such as the remuneration of top performers. Each of the three aspects includes a number of criteria.
More and more companies and private individuals also want to use their capital to reduce the environmental and social footprint of society and business worldwide. For a long time, there was no uniform definition of which criteria a company had to fulfill in order to qualify as a business partner. One of the reasons for this is that the criteria used can differ from service provider to service provider.
Find out here how the ESG criteria we implement provide guidance for our customers, suppliers and other business partners.
